The Native American Alumni Chapter (NAAC) of Arizona State University recognizes ASU Native American students through the NAAC Awards Program. Eligibility criteria for the Native American Alumni Chapter Scholarship are:
*Must be enrolled full-time at any of ASU's campuses.
*Open to Undergraduate and Graduate students.
*Must be an enrolled member of a federal or state recognized Indian Tribe.
*Demonstrates academic success.
The 2023-2024 Native American Alumni Scholarship will be presented at the Annual Josiah N Moore Benefit Dinner. Date to be determined. If selected, awardee agrees to attend the Josiah N Moore Benefit Dinner to personally accept the award. Scholarship may be forfeited if selected candidate is unable to attend and consideration will be given to the next eligible candidate. The recipient will receive a $500 book scholarship disbursed through ASU Financial Aid for the Spring 2024 semester.
Students must submit the following for consideration:
*Completed application
*Copy of Certificate of Indian Blood/Enrollment Number or Tribal ID
*List of Civic Activities, to include Name of Organization, Year(s) of participation and leadership offices held. List involvement with Indian programs, other community activities, service clubs, volunteer work, religious work, civic/professional/scientific associations, societies, etc.
*Essay describing accomplishments, contributions, and academics (limitation of 2 pages)
*One (1) letter of recommendation from a non-family member (advisor, counselor, faculty, etc.)
